MAKHACHKALA, April 16 – RIA Dagestan. Dagestan State Technical University holds its annual Week of Science. The program features invention presentations, roundtable discussions, seminars and master classes.
At the opening ceremony, Pro-Rector for Research and Innovations Shirkali Yusupov noted growth in key performance indicators. Contract research and development work has exceeded 12 million rubles. Leading scientific departments include Building Structures, Construction Technology and Organization, Applied Mathematics, Technical Operation and Chemistry.
A breakthrough in grant funding has been achieved. A project by Sh. Kurbanov on combating sand at oil and gas fields received positive expert review from the Russian Academy of Sciences and has been recommended for state funding in 2026.
Thirteen applications from young scientists were submitted to the Russian Science Foundation. Plans were announced to establish two youth research laboratories: one on hybrid energy storage (with "Daglitii" LLC)) and another on thermoelectric systems for dentistry.
Student M. Kazimagomedov won the "Student Startup" competition, securing RUB 1 million. Two projects won the Makhachev Foundation competition. Two postgraduates received named scholarships.
Publications include: 18 monographs, 21 collections of proceedings, 14 RSCI-indexed articles, 967 Russian Science Citation Index articles and 143 Higher Attestation Commission-listed articles. The university also obtained 8 patents and submitted 12 applications for inventions and software.
Future plans include increasing funded research, expanding publications in Higher Attestation Commission and international databases, improving citation metrics, engaging young researchers, increasing dissertation defenses and broadening partnership agreements with the real sector.
