MAKHACHKALA, March 3 – RIA "Dagestan". Dagestan has advanced to the final stage of the III All-Russian Municipal Award "Service" with the "Friendship of the Peoples of Levashinsky Land" project. The award is held within the framework of the forum "Small Homeland – the Strength of Russia". Out of more than 45,000 applications submitted nationwide, 110 projects were selected as finalists.
Levashinsky municipal district developed a distinctive model for preventing interethnic conflicts by integrating traditional institutions of people's diplomacy with contemporary management approaches. Key elements of the initiative include the establishment of a Council of Elders, training of professional mediators and creation of a network of ethnocultural centers. According to project reports, 23 potential conflict situations were successfully prevented during the implementation period.
