Fyodor Konyukhov Plans to Break His Own Hot Air Balloon Altitude Record This Summer

MAKHACHKALA, April 10 – RIA Dagestan. Fyodor Konyukhov, the famed traveler and aviator, is aiming to break his own Russian hot air balloon altitude record this summer, according to his son Oscar Konyukhov, who heads the expedition headquarters. "We plan to fly the 'PhosAgro' balloon in the Altai region, targeting 11 kilometers—a new national record" - Oscar said. In August 2025, Konyukhov and Ivan Menyailo reached 10,678 meters in Altai Krai, setting the current record. That beat Vitaly Nenashev's 2019 mark of 10,266 meters in the Elbrus region.
