MAKHACHKALA, March 24 – RIA Dagestan. Sergei Melikov, the Head of Dagestan, joined a videoconference chaired by Yury Chaika, the Presidential Envoy to the North Caucasian Federal District. The meeting participants addressed the most pressing challenges facing the region's fuel and energy sector—a critical area for the district's stability and development.
Yury Chaika outlined key sectoral priorities: reducing energy resource losses, ensuring the reliability and quality of electricity supply and addressing subscriber debt arrears. "The situation regarding payment discipline for consumed energy resources in the NCFD regions requires immediate and systematic solutions" - the Presidential Envoy said.
At the same time, it was noted that Gazprom Mezhregiongaz managed to reduce accounts receivable indicators across the district based on 2025 results.
The meeting also presented results of a "pilot" federal project aimed at ensuring sustainable economic development for energy and housing and communal services enterprises in Dagestan, Ingushetia and North Ossetia. Reports were delivered by Sergei Nazarov, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation and regional governors.
Following the meeting, specific tasks were defined to enhance the efficiency of the NCFD's fuel and energy complex, with their implementation placed under monitoring control.
