MAKHACHKALA, April 23 – RIA "Dagestan". An eight-day "Salam, Dagestan" informational tour for a delegation from Uzbekistan has finished in Dagestan. The group included 24 tour operators, travel agents, industry experts and bloggers.
The event was organized by Dagestan Ministry of Tourism, the Republican Tourist Center and the tour operator DagTur.
Visitors explored the region's tourism potential, touring Makhachkala, mountainous areas, the Sulak Canyon, Derbent and coastal zones. Special attention was given to hotels, ethnic and cultural heritage, local cuisine and outdoor activities.
Dagestan and Uzbekistan have agreed to launch new joint travel itineraries in 2026, following negotiations at the "Russia – My History" Park. First Deputy Tourism Minister Abdula Magomedov and the Uzbek delegation summarized the visit, with international guests giving high marks to the local service and infrastructure. The initiative continues the "Simply Tourism" roadshow program and aims to increase Central Asian tourist flows.
