MAKHACHKALA, February 20 – RIA "Dagestan". Consumer credit activity in Dagestan declined over the past year, with residents' total debt to banks falling 5.2% to 197.6 billion rubles. The steepest drop occurred in the consumer loan segment, where borrowing decreased by nearly 13% to 96.5 billion rubles.
Meanwhile, the mortgage portfolio showed modest growth, rising 3.4% over the year to surpass 101 billion rubles. Analysts attribute the continued demand for home loans to the ongoing impact of government-subsidized mortgage programs.
